"Teaching at Marymount gives the unique  opportunity to introduce the students to the endlessly fascinating city of Rome. Marymount students will walk through the Roman Forum, stand within the Pantheon, look up at the Sistine Ceiling, pass through the rooms that Leonardo da Vinci used in the Vatican Palace. How many students have this opportunity? It is important to me that they are instructed to look critically at these monuments that so many hurry past on the way to another monument. "Since 1996 I have taught at Marymount in both  2nd and 4th grades. The multicultural composition of the children and teachers is stimulating. Noticeable aspects of the school are the beautiful and uplifting campus, the involvement of parents in their children's education and their support to teachers. The class field trips to special places such as Pompeii, Tarquinia, St.Peter's and other Roman sites makes history come alive. It is fascinating to observe how the children enjoy school because of the variety of subjects, their close friendships, the special dress up days such as Halloween and Carnivale and the magical plays and shows in which they
participate."

I have seen many changes as I have worked at Marymount over 10 years in Early Childhood. What hasn't changed is the amount of care and attention given by the teachers to make the children's first experience of school a happy one. Each year I have the privilege of working with children from different countries. What strikes me is the similarities between the children. They all need a secure, happy and stimulating environment in order to develop to their full potential. Here at Marymount we strive daily to provide each child with experiences which allow them to follow their own interests and traditions whilst providing them with a good foundation in the skills needed for life."
