TECHNOLOGY:

Students at Marymount have access to technology and a program of study that fosters their ability to think critically about information and provides the skills and knowledge to function in today's changing society. Internet-enabled computers are in classrooms, the computer labs, and the libraries.

All students from Kindergarten through Fifth Grade take computer classes where they store and access their work on their own designated computer. The computer program is integrated within the curriculum areas in the Elementary School. Research skills are part of the library program, where students utilize a multi-media center.

The library and computer centers in the Secondary School are a vibrant hub of activity throughout the day. Students are engaged in the use of computers to do individual research, class work and to connect with others as a community of learners. Laptops are used both in the library and classrooms.

There are a range of computer courses offered at the middle and Secondary School levels. In a full year computer class, each sixth grader builds a web site.

As students progresses through the Secondary School, the emphasis shifts from the use of technology in processing and publishing to classes ranging from graphic design and animation to the programming and theory of computer science.
