Marymount International School Rome is a private, Catholic, English-speaking, co-educational school that aims to further the mission of the Religious of the Sacred Heart of Mary. We welcome students of diverse cultural and religious backgrounds and offer an excellent program of studies and extra-curricular activities. We seek to guide students towards the achievement of their full potential by empowering them to think creatively, reason critically, communicate effectively and learn continuously. It is our goal that a Marymount student should desire to celebrate God’s love, respond generously to the needs of our world, and promote justice and dignity for all.

At Marymount, we strive to develop students who are capable, honest, and respectful, and who are prepared both academically and spiritually to be lifelong learners and leaders of tomorrow.

The Goals of Every RSHM School
1. To foster a personal relationship with God.
2. To create unity through diversity.
3. To instill a life-long love of learning.
4. To encourage and affirm personal growth.
5. To awaken a consciousness of social justice.
6. To fulfill the RSHM mission “That all may have life.”

Set on 40 beautifully landscaped acres, Marymount’s campus comprises five academic buildings, three libraries, three playgrounds, an auditorium, a chapel, a cafeteria, and a variety of arts and sports facilities. Inside the buildings, students enjoy well-equipped and light-filled learning spaces while outside they play, socialize, and study amid the expansive, natural beauty that the school’s lush, green campus affords.

Marymount's students, who stand at the center of school life, represent more than 60 nationalities and speak more than 40 mother-tongue languages. Such diversity not only makes our campus more interesting and colorful but also helps students develop a global perspective from an early age. Friendships among students develop quickly and easily at the school, and many of these friendships last a lifetime.

Marymount's faculty and staff represent one of the school's greatest strengths. A group more than 100 strong, they care deeply about the subjects they teach, the work that they do, and the success of their students. In fact, Marymount's faculty and students enjoy an excellent rapport, which is not only conducive to learning but is also a reason Marymount students enjoy coming to school.

In order to encourage a life-long love of learning, Marymount offers a challenging and engaging academic curriculum. English is the primary language of instruction, and because classes are small, students receive a high degree of personalized attention. Accredited by the New England Association of Colleges and Schools and Council of International Schools, Marymount awards its graduates an American high school diploma and has offered the International Baccalaureate Diploma Program since 1985.

Marymount is a Catholic school that follows the teachings and traditions of the Church, while we welcomes students from many diverse cultures and respect their religious beliefs. It is, in fact, the celebration of this diversity that enables Marymount students to learn in an atmosphere of openness and sharing and helps them formulate values that lead to respect for all people. Students who are Catholic can prepare for the Sacraments of the Eucharist, Reconciliation, and Confirmation at Marymount.

As parents play a crucial role in the educational success of their children, we encourage parents to remain actively engaged in all aspects of their children’s school life. In addition to attending parent-teacher conferences, parents can meet with teachers and administrators to discuss their children’s progress at any point. They also enjoy many opportunities to see their children in performances, presentations, and ceremonies that take place throughout the year. The parent community is an active one at Marymount. Our enthusiastic Parent-Teacher Organization offers many events and activities throughout the year for families and works closely with the school to help new families enjoy a smooth transition to Marymount.
