Middle School Sports
The After School sports program for Middle School students follows a similar model to the Varsity Sports. Clubs meet two afternoons each week and run for each of three annual seasons. Teams are open to all Middle School students (Grades 6-8).
The main goals for all the teams are to:
- develop the skills particular to the sport.
- develop a tactical awareness of the sport.
- develop a sense of perseverance in attempting to improve.
- develop a sense of commitment to a team.
All student athletes and their parents are required to read the Marymount International School Student Handbook concerning appropriate conduct and behavior. Middle School students participating in sports must have a medical certificate, signed by a practicing physician, stating that they are fit to participate in physical activities. Medical certificates are valid for 1 year from the date signed. The school nurse keeps all medical records on file and forwards any pertinent information to the coaches.
Middle School Soccer Team Students learn to develop their individual skills, tactics, and strategies for soccer. All practices take place on the school’s new soccer field. Games and tournaments take place against other international schools in Rome.
