Activities...

  • English Language: This is a class that all non mother tongue English speakers will take daily. This class aims to support the student and provide them with skills they will need to use English during their participation at summer camp. The course will be run by a qualified, ELL teacher from Marymount International School and aims to provide the best learning for non - English language speakers at all levels of proficiency. At the end of the week, each student will obtain a certificate according to the level attained. All students will be placed in groups according to language proficiency allowing for optimum learning. For students who are mother tongue English, this will be a time to write creatively or work further in the FabLab. Their work will be followed by one of our Marymount teachers who will be happy to offer suggestions and guide the students’ work.
  • Swimming: Lessons in swimming will be available in our onsite pool. Instruction will be from a qualified swimming coach with a lifeguard present.
  • Team Games: Students will be able to strengthen their English vocabulary and team skills learning new team games. Students will be able to practice their skills on our onsite, full sized soccer pitch, tennis and basketball courts.
  • Drama & Music: In this class students will be encouraged to use the skills they have learned during their English language Skills class. They will prepare a short performance that will be performed on Friday afternoon. All parents and relatives will be invited to attend.
  • Art: Students will be encouraged to express their creative side in art. They will be using different materials and different techniques to create a range of pieces that can be brought home at the end of camp and shared with family and friends. On Friday afternoons, parents and relatives are invited to attend an exhibition of their child’s work here at the school.
  • Fablab/Tinker: Marymount's first Fab Lab will offer a course where students are designers, makers, and inventors and are driven by their desire to learn how things work. Students work on developing purposeful projects ranging from simple products to products that solve real world problems. In this dynamic classroom, the teacher becomes a coach or advisor, validating creative ideas and helping students develop their projects. (Only available for students age 6 upwards).

About Our Camp

The learning never stops at Marymount – even in summer.  While children need a break from the rigors of the academic year, they also need to stay active and engaged during the summer months.  At Marymount’s Summer Camp, children spend their days enjoying a variety of creative, physical, and social activities while under the supervision of caring and dedicated staff.   All activities take place on the school’s beautiful grounds, which offer plenty of green space for outdoor play plus well equipped classrooms, a refreshing swimming pool, and a variety of outdoor sports facilities.

The camp is ideal for both mother-tongue English speakers and non-English speakers alike. We welcome all levels of learners and students from different cultural and religious backgrounds and offer an excellent and balanced program of both academic and extra-curricular activities. We offer our students the possibility to continue learning the English language in a creative and relaxed environment where all students of all backgrounds can grow and improve. We are proud of our mix of both mother-tongue English speakers and English learners and aim to promote a love of all languages, encouraging the students to create friendships and bonds that will only support and further their learning.
