Marymount International School of Rome, a private Catholic, non-profit schools invites applications for the position of Curriculum Coordinator for grades P-K through 12. Position of Curriculum Coordinator (CC)

Marymount International School of Rome is searching for a CC to begin August 1, 2008. the ideal candidate will be ESL certified, hold a Masters Degree in Education with at least five years of classroom teaching experience in an international school and three years as a CC. It is important for the candidate to be highly motivated, energetic, have well developed interpersonal skills, and be collaborative, flexible and technologically proficient. Experience with virtual education, Administrators Plus, Grade Quick, Edline, Accreditation process, certified as an ESL in the Mainstream teacher, is a plus.

The CC supports the RSHM and school missions and embraces a Catholic worldview as it relates to the values of Marymount International School of Rome. The CC works as part of a team and is responsible for providing leadership and assistance in the design, development, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of the school’s curriculum, P-K through grade 12, to ensure student achievement and continuity. The CC provides leadership for existing programs and staff development.

Job Description for the Curriculum Coordinator

The Curriculum Coordinator supports the RSHM and school missions and embraces a Catholic worldview as it relates to the values of Marymount International School of Rome. The Curriculum Coordinator works as part of a team and is responsible for providing leadership and assistance in the design, development, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of the school’s curriculum, P-K through grade 12, to ensure student achievement and continuity. The Curriculum Coordinator provides leadership for existing programs and staff development.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following areas:

Administration:

1. Works with and reports to the Headmistress, Secondary Principal, and Elementary Principal.

2. Maintains and secures records pertaining to student assessment as applicable to Curriculum Development.

3. Supervises clerical staff.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Curriculum

4. With the Principals facilitates and assists faculty in the implementation of the curriculum which includes:

· Training

· Current or new course offerings

· Monitoring and evaluation

· Planning and development

· Production and publication

· RSHM values integration

5. Coordinates preparation and administration of course standards and benchmarks and submits for approval of principals. Conducts curriculum research as appropriate.

6. Coordinates the whole school curriculum review and oversees the work of the curriculum review teams for each subject area, including work days.

Professional Development

7. Participates in the planning and delivery of curriculum training as appropriate; coordinates curricular in-service days; may attend and participate in related training programs and workshops.

8. Coordinates school professional development policy and faculty attendance at training conferences\workshops.

9. Coordinates faculty in-service afternoons and the annual curriculum weekend.

Administrative

10. Assist with the orientation program for new teachers

11. Coordinates the visits of representatives from educational publishing companies.

12. Coordinates Marymount Schools network curriculum conferences hosted by MMI Rome.

13. Coordinates the School Language/ESL policy and delivers the necessary training for faculty and staff, ESL in the Mainstream (TESMC).

14. Coordinates the collection of evidence of learning tied to the curriculum Standards and Benchmarks.

15. Works with the Secondary English Department for the coordination of the annual grade 8 trip to Stratford.

16. Works with the school Nurse and Guidance counselor for the coordination of the Integrated Health Curriculum.

17. Works with the school Nurse for the coordination of the Pandemic Policy.

18. Assists with school re/accreditation

19. Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.

20. Begins projects and addresses concerns as directed by the principals and the headmistress.

Testing

21. Administers standardized tests, coordinates record keeping, and analyzes/interprets results and makes recommendations to the principals.

22. Administers and coordinates all external admission/placement exams as necessary (AP, PSAT, SAT, Iowa, Terra Nova, etc.)

Technology

23. Coordinates, evaluates and provides training for all of the school’s technological programs (VHS, Edline, Atlas, Administrators Plus)

24. Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned

25. Begins projects and addresses concerns as directed by the principals and the headmistress.
